1.       The Amish have rules for living and dressing. Describe them.

2.     Are there any religious groups in your native country that have

     special rules for living and dressing? Tell your partner about them.

3.     Could you live the way the Amish live?

     Could you live without electricity - without a car, and without a telephone?

4.     Some Amish beliefs are:           

• It is wrong to have more money than you need
• Never fight in wars
• Help one another when there is trouble

What do you think about these beliefs? Do you agree with them?

5.     There is confusion because many Amish have the same last name.

Are there some last names that many people in your native country have?

What are the names?

6.     The Amish give one another nicknames.

Do you have a nickname? What is it? Is there a story behind your nickname?
